Our highly skilled Oncology and Radiation Oncology medical staff have many years of oncology experience between them. With the recent addition of a Radiation Oncology division, CarolinaEast Physicians continues to broaden the scope of its cancer care to the region. Following are biographies of our oncologists, where you will find detailed information on their previous experience and certifications in the field.
Dr. Bonnie J. Goodwin, Medical Oncologist
Bonnie Goodwin, MD, is a graduate of Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, NH, where she earned her Medical Degree. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Hematology Oncology Residency at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC. Bonnie holds board certifications in Internal Medicine and Oncology. She is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Her clinical interests include breast cancer and general oncology. Bonnie has been honored as one of the Best Doctors in America for the 2015-2016 year. In her free time, she enjoys photography, gardening, and being with her family.
Dr. Svetlana Kats, Radiation Oncologist
Svetlana Kats, MD, MPH is a graduate of the Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA, where she earned her Medical Degree and Masters in Public Health. She completed her internship at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, in Internal Medicine. She completed her Residency at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA, in Radiation Oncology. She was the Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA. Dr. Kats is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Kats is a member of the Association for Therapeutic Radiation and Oncology (ASTRO). She also serves as a Cancer Committee Liaison Physician.
In her free time, Dr. Kats enjoys reading, hiking, skiing, and traveling with her husband and two children.
Dr. Seth Miller, Radiation Oncologist
Seth M. Miller, MD, is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine, in Miami, FL, where he earned his medical degree with Research Distinction in 2010. He completed his Radiation Oncology Residency at the University of North Carolina, in Chapel Hill, NC in 2015. He completed his Transitional Year Internship at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, in West Reading, PA in 2011. He is board eligible in Radiation Oncology and is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, American Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, attending youth basketball and baseball games, reading, jogging, and all other coastal activities.
