Medical Staff

Our urology specialists are dedicated to treating urological disorders for the men and women of Eastern North Carolina. With a staff of urologists who specialize in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, incontinence, male infertility, erectile dysfunction, and more, our patients can rest assured that they are receiving the best quality of care available. We strive to treat each patient’s concerns with sensitivity, discretion and expertise.

 

Dr. Doak

Dr. Hoyt B. Doak, IV, Urologist

Hoyt B. Doak, IV, MD, is a graduate of the North Carolina University School of Medicine, in Chapel Hill, NC, where he earned his Medical Degree. He completed his General Surgery Internship and Urology Residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, in Farmington, CT. He is board eligible in Urology and Urological Robotic Surgery. Dr. Doak is a member of the American Urologic Association and the American College of Surgeons. His clinical interests include Urologic Cancer, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery, Adrenal Disease, Men’s Health and Kidney Stones.

In his free time, Dr. Doak enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and visiting national parks.

Dr. Doyle

Dr. G. Mark Doyle, Urologist

George Mark Doyle, MD, is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, in Baltimore, MD, where he earned his Medical Degree. He completed his urology internship and surgical residency at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, in Chapel Hill, NC. He is board certified in urology and urological surgery.

Dr. Holland

Dr. Ryan T. Holland, Urologist

Ryan T. Holland, MD, is a graduate of the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, in Greenville, NC, where he earned his Medical Degree. He completed his General Surgery Internship and Urology Residency at the Louisiana State School of Medicine, in Shreveport, LA. He is board certified in Urology and Urological Robotic Surgery. Dr. Holland is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He was the 2013 American Urological Association National Resident Bowl Winner. Dr. Holland’s clinical areas of interest include Robotic Surgery, Kidney Stones, Male Health, Pediatric Urology, BPH, Female Incontinence, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstruction, and Prostate Cancer.

Dr. Stewart

Dr. Thomas S. Stewart, Urologist

Thomas S. Stewart, MD, earned his Medical Degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, in Columbus, OH. Dr. Stewart completed his Urology Residency at the Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit, MI. He is board certified in Urology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology. Dr. Stewart is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a NC State Representative for the AACU State Society Network. He is a member of the Kanof Institute for Physicians Leadership, the American Medical Association, the American Urological Association, the American Council of Clinical Urologists, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the North Carolina Urological Association. His clinical areas of interest include Male and Female Voiding Dysfunction, Urinary Incontinence, Urodyamics, Botox, Laser Prostate Surgery, and Interstim.

In his free time, Dr. Stewart enjoys computers, playing the guitar, antiques and traveling.

Dr. Underhill

Dr. Thurlow R. Underhill, Urologist

Thurlow R. Underhill, MD, is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Medicine, in Chapel Hill, NC, where he earned his Medical Degree. He completed his Urology Internship and Residency at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. He is Board Certified in Urology and is a retired Captain for the USNR. Dr. Underhill is a Fellow of the American Urological Association and is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the North Carolina Urological Society and the North Carolina Medical Society. He is a recipient of the Upjohn Achievement Award and was granted the Duke Endowment Fellowship, for study in England.

Dr. Walsh

Dr. Patrick J. Walsh, Urologist

Patrick J. Walsh, MD, is a graduate of the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, in Greenville, NC, where he earned his Medical Degree. He completed his General Surgery and Urology Residencies at the Duke University School of Medicine, in Durham, NC. Dr. Walsh is board certified in Urology and is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society and the Craven, Pamlico, Jones Medical Society. Dr. Walsh was the 2007 President of the Craven, Pamlico, Jones Medical Society. His clinical areas of interest include Kidney Stones, Prostate, Bladder or Kidney Cancer, Enlarged Prostate, Voiding Difficulties, Vasectomy and General Urology.

In his free time, Dr. Walsh enjoys windsurfing, sailing, paddle boarding, surfing, fishing, running, and he is a weather enthusiast.

Dr. Whitmore

Dr. Robert B. Whitmore, III, Urologist

Robert B. Whitmore, III, MD, is a graduate of the Eastern Virginia Medical School, in Norfolk, VA, where he earned his Medical Degree. He completed his General Surgery and Urology Residencies at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, in Norfolk, VA. Dr. Whitmore is board certified in Urology and Urological Surgery. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was commissioned in the US Army 1979, following medical school and urology residency. He served at Letterman Army Medical and Eisenhower Army Medical center as a staff urologist. He was awarded the CarolinaEast Health System Beacon of Service Award 2014
